Sheryll Gabutero

Sheryll is a proud Australian and Filipino citizen, having reacquired her Filipino citizenship in 2014. She is a founder and director of Trinity York Legal and Migration, a boutique law firm located on Eagle Street in Brisbane catering to both local and international clientele.

Sheryll completed her undergraduate in Law and Political Science in 2008, completed her Masters in Law focusing on commercial and property law in 2013 from Queensland University of Technology and having graduated with Distinctions, she is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

She was a youth parliamentarian for Springwood in 2004, interned as a research technician with the International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia in 2006 and performed a stint with the Department of Foreign Affairs (Philippines) under the Undersecretary of International and Economic Relations in 2007 whereupon she assisted in drawing Memorandum of Understandings and bilateral trade agreements.

Starting her legal career originally in public practice with the Director of Public Prosecutions (Qld) and appearing on litigious matters in private practice with over 8 years of experience, Sheryll has appeared in the Supreme Court, District and Magistrates Court at Brisbane, Beenleigh, Holland Park, Ipswich and Wynnum. She has also appeared in the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court and has appeared in non-court tribunals such as Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Sheryll is a professional and confident advocate for many of her clients.

Having seen the untapped market potential in the Philippines, Sheryll was inspired to join the Chamber group to advance bilateral ties between the Australian and Philippine business industry, enhance business opportunities in the Philippines and promote and foster local business in both countries.
